There is increasing recognition of the role Antisocial Personality Disorder in offending populations. The disorder, characterised by high impulsivity, thrill seeking and risk taking behaviour can respond poorly to traditional psychological interventions-because impulses travel faster than thought in brain systems. I recently conducted a large scale review of interventions for Antisocial Personality Disorder treatment recommendation in the UK, and although widely recognised, very few studies have been conducted on how to intervene have been published. So it was with great interest that I saw this Ministry of Justice review on the Motivation and Engagement model, that has been piloted in the UK. To read the full study click here.
