In lectures on Personality Disorder and on Romantic Relationships, people are intrigued by the research finding that women are drawn towards psychopathic men. So this recent study reviewed by the Big Think caught my eye. It demonstrated that even when looks are accounted for, women preferred men who scored highly on psychopathic tendencies in dating videos. Big Think tend to suggest that this is because psychopaths may be better are presenting themselves according to what they think that the women want to hear. I am not so sure about this. Women are less looks driven in attraction, and tend to find a wider range of qualities attractive in a prospective partner-including things like confidence, competence and stability.
