I am very excited to announce that I will be covering the Psychological Therapist for Reflective Practice for two days a week with Second Step. Second Step are a leading housing provider and one of the preeminent mental health charities in the South West. Working hand-in-hand with a network of recognized experts and partners including the NHS and local authorities, Second Step put mental health first with cutting-edge therapies tailored to each individual and their recovery. Many of these projects have become recognized models of good practice.
As the Psychological Therapist, I will be covering the reflective practice sessions for the next six months, supporting front line teams to help clients with complex needs and entrenched difficulties, including drug and alcohol use, mental health, personality disorder and long term homelessness. I will also be contributing the UP programme, a peer lead initiative being evaluated by Southampton University.
Having worked with Second Step teams for many years, I was really excited to get the opportunity to work closely with the teams in front line services. Plus the involvement in PIE development which one of the most interesting areas of work in the UK at present. The teams and management have made me feel really welcome already and I look forward to the next six months of development,
