Whilst this idea often dominates the field there is little evidence to support it and it often lacks any clear definition of what is meant by attachment and how it effects later life. This excellent article by Prof Elizabeth Meins, published by the British Psychological Society, explores the research behind attachment theory and how its dominance overshadows the more robust findings in resilience.
